Whitewater Kayak Camp III is a full day camp experience that will fine tune your camper’s kayaking skills while challenging them to develop more advanced techniques at an accelerated pace. Advanced Whitewater Kayak Campers will also learn rescue techniques that will teach them how to handle adversity on the river. Rock, Ride and Paddle Camp II is the next step up from Rock, Ride and Paddle. During the week, campers will gain more experience in climbing and whitewater kayaking at the USNWC, while also participating in Pass Activities. What sets this camp apart from Rock, Ride, and Paddle are the two off-site trips. Campers will have the opportunity challenge their skill level by climbing the steep, rocky faces of Crowders Mountain and paddle the rapids of the lower Green River. Backcountry Camping teaches your child the fundamentals of backcountry travel including, but not limited to:  proper packing, land navigation, campsite preparation, working in a team dynamic, and wilderness cooking. Throughout the week, various Pass Activities will also be included in the campers schedule. On Thursday of the camp session, the campers and counselors will head to South Mountain State Park for an overnight stay to apply their newly developed backcountry camping skills.  During the trip, campers will have to work as a team in campsite preparation and cooking meals.  They will also have an opportunity for a side hike to a waterfall.

200-hour Yoga Teacher Training

The course provides 200-hour YTT training, one Whitewater Center annual parking pass, a comprehensive training workbook, and access to yoga blocks, bolsters, and straps. It will prepare participants to instruct classes typically offered to the general adult population. The full program must be completed in order to receive the 200-hour Yoga Teacher Certification.

This training program is registered by Yoga Alliance and meets or exceeds Yoga Alliance standards. Students who complete this training will be eligible to register as RYT 200 with Yoga Alliance.

Dates:

This course begins on March 6. View the complete course schedule before purchasing - attendance at every class is required for certification. There are no make up dates.

Become a professional raft guide at the largest man-made whitewater facility in the world.  From the classroom to the river, highly qualified instructors teach all of the necessary skills expected of a professional Raft Guide - no prior experience is necessary. 

Upon completion of Guide School, students will be given the opportunity to advance into the Whitewater Center's guide qualification check-out process. Attending guide school does not guarantee a job at the Whitewater Center.

Swiftwater and Flood Rescue I & II is an intensive five day technician level course for swiftwater and flood rescue.  This course focuses recognition and avoidance of common river hazards, execution of self-rescue techniques, and specialized rescue techniques for a variety situations the professional rescue might face. Swiftwater and Flood Rescue I & II course meets and exceeds the NFPA 1006 and 1670 standards for Surface, Swiftwater, and Flood Rescue.

The ACA Advanced Swiftwater Rescue course is aimed at trip leaders, boaters paddling on more challenging whitewater, and anyone desiring the opportunity to develop their rescue skills. This class focuses on developing judgment and applying skills in rescue scenarios.

    SUP YTT, led by Anna Levesque, is for yogis who already hold their 200-hour RYT with Yoga Alliance, or are currently enrolled in the Whitewater 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training (YTT), and are seeking to become a certified SUP yoga instructor.

    This course will include a 3-day parking pass and all SUP equipment (PFD, paddle, paddleboard). Participants are responsible for securing their own ACA instructor manualACA and SEIC membership dues, food, and lodging.

    • Saturday, April 4 – 9:00am – 6:00pm

    Course Notes:

    This class is non-refundable and there are no make-up sessions available.

    A minimum of 6 participants is required for this session to be held. In the event that less than 6 participants enroll for this training, the session will be cancelled and registrants will be fully refunded.
